Three men charged over Sydney brothel siege

Three men will face court today after a siege at a brothel in Sydney's south-west on Thursday.

Heavily armed tactical response police were called to Liverpool's Men's Paradise business yesterday morning after receiving reports a group of armed men had taken hostages inside.

Police arrested a man, 45, after speaking to him at the scene.

A second man, 40, was arrested after officers established an exclusion zone around the building and he walked outside.

An hour later, officers stormed the building and arrested a third man, aged 36.

Two men, aged 25 and 41, and two women, 34 and 40, were freed after allegedly being held in the brothel for several hours.

"They were shaken but not injured," a police statement said.

"A crime scene was established at the business and examined by specialist forensic officers while the building was also searched by police.

"However, no weapon was located."

The three men each face a charge of aggravated take person with intent to commit serious indictable offence.

They were refused bail to appear at the Liverpool Local Court today.
