NSW police seek woman and child

NSW police are seeking urgent public help to locate a one-month-old boy believed to be travelling with his mother.

Shoaa Asmar, 27, and her baby son, Omar, were last seen leaving an address on Croft Avenue, Merrylands about 6.30pm (AEST) on Monday.

Police hold grave concerns for their safety.

They are believed to be travelling in a light blue coloured 2000 model Toyota Corolla with black and gold coloured NSW plates UZS - 116.

Shoaa is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, 165cm tall, tanned skin, medium build and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a dark coloured jilbab (a scarf covering her torso and head but showing the face). The woman also regularly wears a hijab.

Police urge anyone with information to call triple zero.
