American actor, Jeff Conaway died of pneumonia on the 27th of May 2011 at the age of 60.

He was most known and respected for his famous role as Kenickie, best friend of John Travolta’s role, Danny Zuko in the classic movie, Grease.

More recently, he's also known for being featured on the reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

A few weeks before his death he suffered a drug overdose from pain killers.

He was found on May 11 in critical condition and was taken to Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center in Encino, California.

He was placed into an induced coma after being diagnosed with pneumonia with sepsis. His drug overdose left his body unable to respond to his illness and could not respond to treatment.

Conaway was on life support until his family chose to take him off on May 26 after the doctors revealed it was too late and there was no chance of revival. The morning after he was taken off life support, he passed away at the age of 60.

The doctors concluded that Jeff’s addiction to opiate affected his lungs and made his body weak and unable to respond to illness, causing fatal internal illnesses.

Conaway was a brilliant actor whom will remain respected and loved by many.
