Young waitress blown away by surprise from customers
A waitress in the US was shocked when a couple left her a tip of A$1,500 on a A$25 bill.
Brianna Siegel, 21 works at the Bar Louie restaurant in New Jersey and no doubt made an impact on the customers - with her memorable hospitality paying off.
Ms Siegel, who has reportedly been waiting tables since she's was 16-years-old, was given an envelope by a couple after they paid their bill.
“I was talking to them, they were really nice people to me. We were laughing,” she told News 12 New Jersey.
They told her to open the envelope when she got home and when she did she saw a cheque inside.
Ms Siegel was so shocked she nearly fell to her knees, News 12 New Jersey reports.
“I looked and I saw a check written out in my name for $1,200…I just keep asking myself why me?” she told the media outlet.
The couple also wrote an inspiring note for her.
Part of the note read: “Bri, God cares for you. This is not a coincidence… whenever it gets hard KNOW God got you.”
The manager at the establishment where Ms Siegel works says she is deserving of the surprise gift.
“She’s always willing to come in. Always willing to help out. She’s a great worker for us,” said the restaurant's general manager Brent Ruhkamp.
The 21-year-old has thought about what she will use the tip for and is reportedly planning to put the money towards a new car and nursing school.
