Man boasts about his sick 'I stole Madeleine McCann' tattoo

A British man has boasted on social media of a tattoo he got mocking Madeleine McCann’s disappearance, after holidaying in Portugal.

The man, reportedly a Glasgow mechanic, tweeted a picture last week, of the words “I stole Madeleine McCann” inked on his leg.

The cursive text is bordered with bells above it, and a single heart underneath.

“What happens in Portugal, stays in Portugal,” he boasted.

He also bragged the ink was the “best thing I’ve ever got.”

Three-year-old Madeleine vanished from her parent's Portuguese holiday villa 10 years ago and has never been found.

It is believed the toddler was abducted from the Praia da Luz resort apartment while her parents ate at a nearby tapas restaurant.

The offensive tattoo was reportedly inked at the notorious party strip Magaluf, on the Spanish island of Majorca.

Dubbed "Shagaluf" the tourist hotspot has an abundance of tattoo studios which stay open until 6am, to take advantage of drunken partygoers looking for a holiday souvenir permanently stamped on their body.

A number of tattoo parlours told the Daily Star they were happy to do any tattoo requested, no matter how crass.

“We get loads of crazy Brits in here asking for all sorts of tats,” one worker said.

“We’ll do whatever they want, even if it’s offensive. Some people might say it’s a bit sick but it’s not going on our bodies and It’s the person’s decision.”
