Video shows adults ignoring child drowning next to them in swimming pool
Pool-goers at an iconic Finland tourist destination have been ridiculed after they seemingly ignored a five-year-old boy drowning just metres away from them.
Sickening footage has emerged of the youngster struggling to keep his head above the surface in the Helsinki pool for nearly five minutes.
Video shows onlookers watch the boy’s struggle but even when he waved his arms for help, no one came to his aid.
Remarkably, the boy survived after a woman finally noticed him not moving in the water and rushed him from the pool.
He is said to be making a full recovery in hospital, while his mother was handed a four-month suspended jail sentence and fined more than $2000.
