Angry customer 'throws boiling soup on pregnant waitress'
A pregnant woman was left with horrific burns after a customer allegedly threw boiling hot soup over her at a restaurant in China.
Chinese newspaper People’s Daily reports the argument began after the customer took two straws from another diner’s drink without asking.
When waitress Dong Xiao Meng confronted the customer, the woman stood up and tipped a bowl of boiling water on her.
Video shows staff rushing to help the waitress, while the enraged customer continues to throw things at the expectant mother, including a second bowl of hot water.
Ms Meng was taken to hospital to be treated for burns.
Her family has told local media she could lose her baby as a result of her injuries.
Police are reportedly investigating the incident.
