'You picked the wrong guy': Mob left red faced

If you're going to pick a fight with someone, you probably ought to check they're not a professional boxer first.

Dramatic CCTV vision shows an Irish tourist fighting off a mob of angry shopkeepers in Turkey after they turned on him for making a simple mistake.

The argument broke out in Istanbul’s Aksaray district after the Irishman opened a refrigerator door and accidentally spilled water bottles onto the street.

The footage shows the shopkeeper start a fight with the tourist, calling in nearby stall holders to help.

Together the mob chase the man down the street, repeatedly hitting him with sticks and plastic chairs.

Little did they know, however, they’d picked a fight with their own worst enemy.

The holiday-maker manages to fight off his attackers, landing several heavy punches and knocking one man face first to the ground.

The Irishman can be seen bearing his fists at the group, sending them running off with their tails between their legs.
