Viewers let down after seeing snake 'eat man'
Viewers have finally witnessed the much-hyped television event where a wildlife expert allowed himself to be 'eaten' by a giant anaconda - and they are not happy.
Naturalist Paul Rosolie donned a special suit and helmet to let the huge snake eat him for the Eaten Alive special aired on Discovery Channel.
He and his team spent 60 days hiking through rainforest in Peru to find the right animal to take part in the stunt.
The video shows him feeding himself to the anaconda head-first while his team watches on, before Rosolie called for an end to the experiment about an hour in, fearing he would be crushed.
The much-hyped event has angered animal rights activists, who claim the anaconda was tortured by being forced to eat a man much larger than its usual prey.
Rosolie has previously said the snake was unharmed and the experiment was actually aimed at raising money to save the anaconda’s habitat.
The show has also drawn the ire of viewers, who felt it did not quite live up to expectations and took to Twitter with their frustrations.
Show should have been called "I hugged a big snake" #EatenAlive

Should I even bother to watch this even though thanks to Twitter I know he doesn't get eaten by the #Anaconda? #Discovery #DiscoveryChannel

Here's a spoiler - man doesn't get eaten by Anaconda and more fool Discovery for hyping this for weeks.
