Woolworths release Christmas mini collection to rival Coles
Woolworths has released its own mini-collection ahead of the silly season after the huge success of competitor Coles’ Little Shop campaign.
The supermarket released its own “little bit of magic, imagination and festive work” for customers ahead of Christmas with its own range of Woolworths Christmas Pop-Outs.
The collectables feature 12 Christmas-themed buildable cardboard characters including Santa and his elves.
“Customers will also be able to see what they are getting as the ‘Woolworths Christmas Pop-Outs’ will not come in ‘blind plastic bags’ to help avoid duplication or disappointment and minimise waste,” a statement said.
This comes after Coles made 30 collectibles in individual plastic bags and gave one to customers for each $30 spent.
Woolworths’ collectibles will be released each week for the next four weeks and will also be available with every $30 spent in store or online.
Managing director Clarie Peters said in a statement people “will be captured by the wonder and imagination” of the collectables.
She added the collectables are fully recyclable.
The will be available from Wednesday.
Chief executive Brad Banducci labelled it a “successful campaign” and said it had affected customers with children trying to collect the toys.
