Woman's frightening find inside her washing machine

Most of us know mixing whites with colours can be disastrous, but adding patterns to the mix ended in a terrifying result for one Queensland woman.

The contents of her household washing machine were shared to Facebook on Thursday, with a picture revealing a snake curled up among the Buderim resident’s workwear and dirty laundry.

“A lady got the fright of her life when she went to put some extra clothes in the washing machine and found a large carpet python in there,” wrote Stuart McKenzie, owner of The Snake Catcher 24/7 – Sunshine Coast.

The reptile expert suspected the python slithered in among the clothes to escape the heat, as Sunshine Coast’s temperatures soared to a blistering 31C Thursday morning.

“It’s so lucky she didn’t turn it on,” Mr McKenzie added in the post accompanying the picture he shared.

The find shocked hundreds, with one man joking the woman may have added “one more pair of soiled underwear to the machine” after she discovered the unexpected serpent.

One woman had a simple solution: “Throw the whole machine out, forget the clothes.”

I would never do the washing again,” another woman added.
