Woman's death 'suspicious' after baby boy found alive in house with her body

A woman has been found dead inside a home with police treating her death as “suspicious”.

A baby boy was also found alive in the home at Lorking Street in the Wollongong suburb of Bellambi, south of Sydney, in NSW.

Just after 1am on Friday, emergency services were called to the address after the body of the 39-year-old woman was discovered.

The body had suffered serious injuries and her death is being treated as suspicious, NSW Police said in a statement.

Officers have started an investigation and the scene will be forensically examined.
