Woman's body found in driveway at Sydney home sparking homicide investigation

Paramedics attempted to revive the woman but she died at the scene.

A woman has died on her driveway in Sydney's southwest on Friday morning, despite paramedics desperately attempting to revive her.

First responders arrived at Bradshaw Avenue in Moorebank at roughly 6am, finding the woman lying on a property's driveway, believed to be her place of residence. They performed emergency resuscitation but the woman died at the scene, police said.

Despite multiple media outlets reporting that the woman was found naked, police say she was fully-clothed when NSW Ambulance staff arrived.

Yahoo News Australia has been informed by police the woman had suffered a "serious laceration to her left arm", however, her cause of death is currently unknown and is being investigated by homicide detectives.

Police investigating death of Sydney woman

A post-mortem will be performed to help police piece together information surrounding the incident and determine an official cause of death.

"Detectives are awaiting on the results of a post-mortem examination as they continue to investigate the death," police shared, before adding that "specialist scene-of-crime officers" are involved in the investigation.

"Detectives attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command are now investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death, assisted by detectives attached to the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad."

A smashed window of the residential property is believed to be important for the case and investigators are examining it closely, as well as speaking to several witnesses who are cooperating with police.

There has been no charges laid presently and the woman has not yet been identified.

Police have shared that they are preparing a report for the information of the Coroner.
