Woman savagely attacked by pit bull on busy train

A commuter on a packed train has been savagely attacked by a pit bull as passengers frantically attempted to pry her foot free.

Dramatic footage captured on the New York City subway shows the dog clamping on the woman’s foot moments after she reportedly confronted the owner asking him to remove the dog from the seat next to her.

Witness Tahysi Kyng told CBS News that the woman objected and asked him to move it.

“She’s like, ‘the dog doesn’t belong on the seat.’ He’s like, ‘I’m not moving my dog,’”Ms Kyng told the station.

Denise Leon, who also witnessed the ordeal said the attack started after the woman attempted to push the dog off the seat.

Commuters can be heard screaming at the owner “tell the dog to release” as they hold onto the woman’s leg.

After a lengthy struggle, other commuters managed to slide the woman’s foot from her shoe, leaving the pit bull with the blue sneaker its mouth.

The owner can be seen throwing the sneaker away before collecting his belongings and exiting with his dog.

NYPD said they are aware of the footage and are investigating the vicious attack.

Remarkably, the woman didn’t suffer any major injuries and was able to walk away from the incident.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson Shams Tarek said the vision was disturbing to watch.

“Our rules require non-service animals to be kept inside containers and not disturbing other passengers,” he told the New York Post.

“What’s happening in this video is disturbing and a clear violation of our rules.”
