Woman leaps from home to confront driver who ploughs into yard before speeding off

Police are looking for the driver who left behind a trail of destruction.

A furious Melbourne woman has shared jaw-dropping CCTV footage of the moment a speeding car ploughed through her fence and onto her lawn before reversing and fleeing without even making eye contact.

Video shows a car skidding around a corner at high speed. It enters Hotham St, Hoppers Crossing before losing control and crashing through the woman's fence, narrowly missing another car. She comes out her front door as the driver is trying to reverse off her lawn.

"You f******g d***k, what are you doing?!" the woman is heard screaming as she approaches the car. She curses the driver again before it returns to the road and tears off, leaving behind a cloud of exhaust fumes shrouding the property as the woman drops to her knees to examine the damage. Neighbours, who witnessed the carnage, call out to the woman to make sure she is okay.

The incident took place at 11.55am last Friday and was recorded on the woman's doorbell security camera. On Monday she shared her experience to the Facebook group Dash Cam Owner's Australia.

Driver 'had no intention of stopping'

"Footage from our doorbell," the woman said, accompanying the video. "Car lost it and ploughed through the fence. Missed the house thankfully.

"Driver had no intention of stopping, and was actively fleeing, while both he and his passenger hid their faces and avoided eye contact with me, even before my tirade."

Victoria Police told Yahoo News Australia on Tuesday they are investigating the incident and confirmed no one was injured. "Investigators were told the male driver fled the scene," police said.
