Woman killed in horror boat crash
A woman has been killed after a boat she was in crashed into a riverbank.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was in the boat on the Hawkesbury River, northwest of Sydney, when it crashed on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to a boat ramp on Pitt Town Ferry Rd at Wilberforce just after 9pm.
NSW Paramedics attempted to treat the woman but she died at the scene.
Meanwhile another man who was on the boat was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The woman is yet to be formally identified.
“A 38-year-old man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Police seized the boat, which will be examined as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
