On Easter Sunday, Dharmvir Singh, 38, and his father, Gurjinder Singh, 65 died at nearby Surfers Paradise hotel, Top of the Mark Apartments, while attempting to rescue Dharmvir’s two-year-old daughter.

The toddler’s mother had tripped and fell into the pool while holding the girl, which prompted the rescue attempt.

While the child and her mum was successfully pulled from the pool, Dharmvir and Gurjinder went into cardiac arrest.

While Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and bystanders attempted to administer CPR, they were unable to be revived and died at the scene.

The family were on holiday for North Clyde in Melbourne at the time of the tragedy.
