Wife's relief after frantic search for missing husband during Cyclone Debbie's chaos
In the middle of Cyclone Debbie's fury, a Queensland woman issued a desperate plea for help to find her husband who went missing amid the storm chaos.
David Clarke, 68, had called his wife Jenny to tell her the cyclonic winds had ripped the roof from their Proserpine home about 10am Tuesday.
There are reports Mr Clarke has since been found, after his wife struggled to contact him overnight.
“I’m so worried ... I can’t remember exactly but he said something like ‘I’m not going to win this one’," Ms Clarke told News Corp during the search for David.
“He called me to say the roof had come off and the ceiling caved in, one of the side doors was blown off and he pushed something heavy against it,” she said.
Ms Clarke was recovering in Townsville Hospital when the Cyclone hit.
She took to Facebook to beg her community to help her find her missing husband, saying she was: “consumed with worry and guilt about not being there”.
“I called the police at about 10.30am but there was nothing they could do because of the lockdown so I have no idea what has happened,” she said.

'Debbie, please don't take my house away': Local serenades approaching cyclone
While their house was not listed in the evacuation zone, much of the surrounding area remained in lockdown following the cyclone, which meant Ms Clarke could not get police to check on her husband.
“I need to talk to Dave as I am very worried about him, he has chronic obstructive airways disease," she said at the time of the search.
Locals had offered to help check on David on Wednesday, when it was considered safe to leave their homes.
