Wife accidentally sends husband's secret $2k savings to recycling
It pays to tell your wife everything, and for one gentleman in China, it quite literally does.
Stashing away a secret cardboard box of savings, the man, identified in Chinese media as Mr Xu, was ensuring his wife didn't know about his extra money.
But such a move came back to haunt Mr Xu, as his wife began collecting recyclables in the home she could exchange for a nominal fee, The Paper reported.
Among the waste paper and cardboard she collected was Mr Xu's secret money box, however she never looked inside.

Once learning of his misfortune, Mr Xu immediately called his local police in Taizhou, Zhejiang, to help him locate his lost money, a rosy sum of 10,000 yuan ($2,100).
Officers made their way to the recycling facility where their waste had ended up at and began searching through the mounds of recyclable paper and cardboard.
To make matters worse, the search party endured 40C as large parts of China suffers amid a sweeping heatwave.
Thankfully, police were eventually able to find Mr Xu's money.
No doubt his wife will now want her share of the cash.
Some Weibo users predicted there'd be further repercussions for the man, even possibly divorce.
