White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will lead a press briefing Wednesday afternoon.
President Biden’s State of the Union address Thursday evening is expected to garner a large audience. Democrats see the event as a chance to make the case that he should remain in office for another term, with the added opportunity for comparison to former President Trump, who as expected dominated Super Tuesday.
Polls have shown that Biden will likely need to overcome a widespread perception that the effects of his advanced age have already disqualified him from reelection.
