White House holds press briefing: Watch live

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is set to hold a daily press briefing Wednesday.

The White House has pushed Congress for more funds to help address the migration crisis at the southern border, though House Republicans have voiced continued opposition to a compromise proposal being negotiated by senators from both parties.

Meanwhile, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and others in the House GOP caucus have voiced support for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) in his dispute with the White House over border control jurisdiction. Polling has shown immigration is a top issue for voters this year.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EST.
