Western Australia Day store opening hours: When Coles, Woolworths, Bunnings and bottle shops will trade
Shoppers in Western Australia might have to change their plans on Monday due to the WA Day public holiday.
Monday, June 3, is Western Australia Day. Also known as Foundation Day, WA celebrates the founding of the state on the first Monday of June each year.
It is a public holiday for the state, meaning many businesses will observe different trading hours than usual.
Here is a guide of the changes you can expect in major retailers around the state.
Coles and Woolworths
Most Coles supermarkets in Perth and other parts of WA will have special trading hours and will be open from 8am until 6pm.
However, some will have even shorter hours - including stores in suburbs of the southwest coast city of Mandurah including Lakelands, Mandurah Forum and Meadow Springs – are open from 10am to 5pm.
The store in the southern town of Albany and the one on the Albany Highway will also operate on this shorter schedule.
Both stores in Kalgoorlie, in the Goldfields-Esperance region and Narrogin in the wheatbelt region will be closed on Monday.
Bunbury Centre Point and Busselton stores will trade normally.
Many other locations including Chinatown, Eaton Fair, Geraldton, Karratha, Kunnunurra, Kwinana, Margaret River, Pinjarra, South Bunbury, South Headland, Tom Price and Vasse will trade as normal.
A further list of store opening hours can be found in the Coles website.
Woolworths will observe mostly normal opening hours from 8am until 9pm but it’s still best to double check with your local store.
