Weather girl Laura Tobin rips 'rare superhero poster worth $300,000' on live TV
Donning a pair of white protective gloves while handling an extremely delicate cartoon artefact, what Good Morning Britain weather girl Laura Tobin did next sent her colleagues and viewers into a stunned silence.
The 34-year-old breakfast TV show presenter was presenting a picture of The Replicator as part of a segment to mark the start of London Super Comic Con when the stunt unfolded.
"I've got my gloves on but I'm feeling really nervous because you said the oils can really spoil them," she said as fellow host Richard Arnold watched on anxiously.
While trying to remove the comic from it's display, Tobin tore the page completely in half.
"Oh my goodness! Is this the original one that's worth £150,000?" she asked.
"We are making this up, right?" a clearly shocked and shaken Arnold said.
"We've probably got some insurance that covers this," newsreader Ranvir Singh hoped.
"Can we just glue that back down again? Can we go to an advert?" host Charlotte Hawkins quizzed.
But alas, they were all unawares they had been pranked by Tobin, who revealed on Twitter it was all a hoax.
"Guys - it was a joke! It's not really worth £150,000, it's worth nothing!" she posted to Twitter.
