'Want the good stuff?': Accused drug dealer's bold offer to police

An accused drug dealer who had more than 1000 pills in his car has attempted to sell drugs to uniformed police officers after they stumbled across his car by accident.

Officers were at the scene of a car break-in in Power Street in Southbank, in Melbourne’s inner-city, about 1.30am on Wednesday when they were told by the victim that the offender had also touched a nearby car.

Officers accidentally went to the wrong car and noticed a man in the driver’s seat.

Police say the man then asked the officers if they wanted to buy some drugs and “if they wanted the good stuff”.

“Strangely enough this resulted in officers searching the vehicle and locating 1000 tablets of what is believed to be ecstasy as well as speed, ice and $5800,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

The Melton man, 26, was arrested and is expected to be charged with trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime.
