Bloodied stabbing victim knocks on doors for help - but no one answers
A man has been stabbed repeatedly, allegedly by his friend, when the pair got into a fight after getting lost.
It happened in Henley Brook in Perth's northern suburbs on Sunday night.
Witness have described the terrifying moment the victim jumped out of a car and started banging on doors for help.
"He was smashing on my door," local resident Anna Lazzara said.
"I didn't realise he was bleeding, he was just screaming, 'help, help I'm being stabbed'."
Bleeding and unsteady on his feet, CCTV captures the man stumbling towards a door and knocking for help, but no one answers.
Police say the man behind him is his friend, allegedly holding a knife.
The 41-year-old was allegedly stabbed multiple times and slashed many more in the front yards of three homes on Brumby Avenue.
Several doors were left smeared with blood.
Police say the pair were driving home from a crabbing trip when they got lost at about 7pm and began to argue.
Neighbours say the fight lasted for almost an hour, with the victim running across the road and back again several times looking for help.
With no one opening their front doors, the victim locked himself in the car, but his friend allegedly smashed the windows with a slab of concrete and tried to stab him again.
The victim is in Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition with serious injuries.
A 43-year-old man has been charged with unlawful wounding, criminal damage and threatening police.
He is due to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
