Elderly man attacked with makeshift weapon in front of children in terrifying home invasion

An elderly man has been attacked in front of two children during a violent home invasion in Western Australia.

WA Police say a man entered the unlocked home of an 83-year-old man on Truarn Street in Mandurah on Wednesday about 9pm.

They say he challenged the 83-year-old to a fight. He then bashed the man with a “flail-type weapon” – a rope with a heavy object attached at the end.
