WATCH: Close call as car nearly smashes into another at an intersection

Footage has emerged of a dangerous near-miss as one car nearly crashes into another on a Fremantle street.

Police were allegedly chasing another car when it narrowly avoided a collision.

A blue car can be seen barrelling through the intersection at Hampton Road and South Street around 1.30pm on Friday afternoon.

It clips the small red sedan, but a fraction of a second later and police believe there could have been a fatal crash.

Moments later a police car can be seen racing through the intersection in pursuit.

In slow motion, bits can be seen flying off the front of the red sedan.

"I could hear it from my house just around the corner," local resident Billy said of the police sirens.

"I thought they were firetrucks, there were so many."

A few hundred metres along Hampton Road the blue vehicle demolished the front wall of a house.

Police were just seconds behind.

They say they tried to stop the driver who was wanted on warrants when he fled.

The woman driving the red sedan was not injured, but as the CCTV of the accident shows, she was very lucky.
