Grandmother robbed, bashed in brutal home invasion

Police are hunting a man who launched a violent attack on a Perth grandmother inside her own home.

The 65-year-old said she feared for her life as the intruder followed into her Armadale house.

The man demanded her car keys and when “Mary” handed them over, she thought the nightmare was over – it wasn’t.

“I walked back in thinking he'd walked out but he'd walked back in behind me,” the injured grandmother told 7 News.

“He went berserk, he was screaming and yelling.

“He punched me to the ground then started kicking me while I was on the ground.”

The frenzied attack saw Mary admitted to hospital where she had a deep gash on her head stapled together.

The only thing Mary remembers about her attacker is his wild eyes starting back at her.

He remains at large after taking off in Mary’s silver Holden Cruse.

He was spotted driving erratically through Armadale, Brookdale, Maddington and Kelmscott before crashing and dumping the car at the intersection of Brookton and Albany Highway.
