Vodafone customers across the country experienced difficulties making calls on Tuesday.

Customers took to social media to share their frustration after the outage reportedly affected voice calls across the country.

Customers said they were unable to receive calls or contact other Vodafone customers from their devices.

One user said they “cannot make or receive calls in the Sydney CBD”.

Another customer, who had joined up to the telecommunication service only a year ago, said they were only able to make outgoing calls but weren’t receiving incoming calls or text messages.

“One of my services can receive but not make calls and SMS, whilst the other service is the reverse,” they wrote on X, formally known as Twitter.

Vodafone responded to those on social media asking them to reach out so a customer service operator can assist.

Most reported locations included Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, North Melbourne, Gold Coast and Canberra, according to Downdetector.

A Vodafone spokesman said the company’s technical teams worked to resolve the problems as quickly as possible.

“Our technical teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” he said.

“We apologise for the inconvenience.”

The spokesman confirmed other mobile services, including text messages, data services and triple-0 calls, continue to work as normal.

Service was restored in the evening.
