Virgin Australia has launched a flight sale all across Australia with fares starting from just $69, including luggage and seat selection.

The embattled company said it was launching the sale to mark its 20-year anniversary, and in anticipation of Victoria’s borders opening.

“With borders slowly reopening and more Australians excited to explore their own backyard, we’re making it easy for them to get to wherever they need to go, with our 20th birthday sale fares from just $69 including baggage and seat selection,” a spokesperson said.

“We’re thrilled to include Victorians in our birthday sale and we remain hopeful that they’ll soon be able to travel more freely so we’ve included a host of great value fares to and from Melbourne.”

Victoria had five new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, with Premier Daniel Andrews flagging restrictions will be eased further on Sunday. Queensland remains closed to NSW travellers, while South Australia and Tasmania are opening up their borders.

The sale begins on Thursday 22 October and is for travel dates between 25 November 2020 and 31 March 2021, with Virgin also promising to waive change fees for those travelling between now and 31 January.
