Jacinda Arden Holds Rally a Week Before General Election

New Zealand Labour Party leader Jacinda Arden held a rally on the University of Otago campus in Dunedin on Friday, September 15.“We are so close to having an opportunity to change New Zealand’s history,” said Arden, who was in a tight race with Prime Minister Bill English. The general election will be held on September 23 but early voting has already begun, and the race seems to be a toss-up. A “poll of polls” published by Stuff.co.nz put the centre-left Labour at 38.1 percent on Thursday, behind centre-right National Party at 43.3 percent.
