WATCH: The moment a 96-year-old driver flew out of car park and launched into air

A 96-year-old driver has slammed into a parked vehicle in a hospital car park before flying over the top and landing in the bushes.

The shocking incident was captured on dashcam outside Warringal Private Hospital in Melbourne's northeast on Thursday.

Footage shows the elderly driver flying out of the hospital parking lot and smashing straight in to a stationary car outside.

The rear dashcam then shows the car flying over the top and narrowly missing a pole before coming to a stop in the bushes.

"Visiting a mate in hospital tonight, thought I'd found a great car park right out front," the owner of the parked car said.

"Next thing I know my rego is being called over the PA. I go out to find police, fireys (sic) and ambulances everywhere.

"Luckily nobody was killed."

A number of witnesses can be seen getting out of their vehicles to help the driver after he finally came to a stop.

The 96-year-old driver was taken to hospital after the incident.
