WATCH: Woman smashes up taxi in strange tantrum after crashing into fence

A woman has climbed onto the roof of a taxi and smashed its windscreen with her foot during a bizarre attack in Melbourne’s north.

She had just crashed her own car into a fence when she lashed out, but her victim doesn’t know why he became the target.

Not wearing any shoes, the woman climbed on top of a taxi in a rage at 12.30am yesterday on Nicholson Street, Coburg.
“Are you gonna black magic or what?” a passer-by asks her.

"What are you doing here?" he asks her.

Then she used her bare heel to smash through the taxi’s windscreen.

The woman had just crashed her car into a fence nearby and seemed desperate to flee.

She tried grabbing onto a taxi and was dragged along for several metres.

She fell to the ground as other taxis stopped to assist.

“She was definitely irritated. Like, couldn’t talk any sense into her, wasn’t really listening,” witness Jeff Bell said.

Cabbie Sartaj Gill was among them.

“Suddenly she jumped onto my cab and she tried to break my windscreen with a punch after she jump off the roof,” he said.
He stayed in his seat as she attacked.

“Glass is smashed, then I have to close my eyes because if any pieces of glass come in my eyes it’s very dangerous.”

Police arrived and quickly tired of her ranting.

The woman, a 26-year-old from Ivanhoe, was strapped to a stretcher and taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with minor injuries.

Police are now investigating charges over the collision and criminal damage to the taxi.
