Woman dies, man critically injured after mystery fall from Melbourne apartment
A woman has died and a man was badly injured after a mysterious fall in an inner Melbourne apartment complex.
Mystery surrounds the circumstances that led to police being called to the apartment building in Collingwood after 11am Saturday.
They arrived to find the man and woman had apparently both fallen more than 10 metres from what appears to be an internal balcony inside the apartment complex.
The woman in her 20s died at the scene.
The 35-year-old man who lives at the apartment was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
The coroner has personally inspected the scene because at this stage it is hard to determine what happened although witnesses described a dramatic scene.
