Grave concerns after teenage mum, newborn baby go missing from Melbourne hospital
Police have fears for missing a teenage mother. 17 and her one-day-old baby who are in urgent need of medical attention.
Amanda Clay, 17, and her newborn daughter Phoebe were last seen at the Northern Hospital about 3.30pm on Thursday and need urgent medical attention, police say.
Police were called to the hospital when Phoebe was taken by people known to the Clay family just hours after she was born, while Amanda left the hospital of her own accord.

Medical staff at the hospital, in north suburban Epping, fear Phoebe is not feeding properly and have grave concerns for her welfare.
Amanda also needs urgent medical care, they say.

Police are appealing for the duo to be returned to the hospital.
Amanda is described as having a solid build and dark hair.
