Close call on Vic freeway captured on camera

A car load of passengers were lucky to survive a shocking freeway smash in the path of an oncoming semi-trailer truck.

The extraordinary vision shows the moment a truck driver was forced to slam on the brakes when an out of control car crashed and veered into its path on the Princes Freeway near Point Cook.

The dash cam video shows the white Holden Commodore swerving across four lanes of the freeway in front of the oncoming truck and another car, before the driver loses control and slams into a safety barrier.

The car spins out of control before come to a grinding stop right in front of the approaching truck.

The truck driver managed to pull up his vehicle just before hitting the vehicle, which was carrying four passengers.

"Nearly cleaned up four people in a commodore Nearly cleaned up 4 people in a commodore to my surprise thank god there was no baby in the baby seat. Tyres on the car where completely bald," the truck driver wrote on Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page.
