Family's plea over Maddison's death

Maddison Murphy West

The family of a murdered Pakenham woman has clashed angrily in court with supporters of the drug addict who they believe killed her.

The heartbroken relatives of Maddison Murphy-West pleaded with her former partner, Troy Boothey, to ease their pain, and come clean and confess.

Maddison's family believe the 25-year-old was responsible for the young mother's death at her Pakenham home in October last year - just days before he launched into a six-month crime spree.

Boothey was also considered a suspect in the unsolved murder of another Pakenham mother, Kylie Blackwood, but later ruled out.

He was also captured on CCTV moments before trashing a Hampton Park convenience store in March.

Boothey will spend at least six months behind bars over the drug-fueled crime spree that he claimed was spurred by grief over the death of Maddison, but her family believe he is responsible.

Police are still investigating Maddison's death to determine if it was murder, but her family are in no doubt.

They say that until justice is served, their pain endures.

"It's the worst nightmare you can possibly think of," Maddison's uncle, Shannon, said.
