Body found in bushland near Bendigo
A body, believed to be that of missing Melbourne man Wayne Amey, has been found in rugged bushland on Mount Korong, north-west of Bendigo.
Search and rescue crews found the human remains a short time ago following a two-day search.
Mr Amey's one-time partner, Robyn Jane Lindholm, earlier appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court charged with helping to dispose of Mr Amey's body sometime between December 10 and 14.
Lindholm, 40, is facing three charges over the alleged kidnapping and suspected murder of 54-year-old gym owner.
Mr Amey was last seen leaving Romeo's restaurant in Toorak about 11.10pm last Tuesday.
Police are hunting John Anthony Ryan, 36, for questioning over the suspected murder.
Lindholm, who is reportedly a former girlfriend of late gangland figure Alphonse Gangitano, is also charged with stealing Mr Amey's ute from his Hawthorn home and intentionally causing serious injury to him.
Defence lawyer Juliette Hardy told the court Lindholm was coming down off ice and suffered from panic attacks, asthma and a heart murmur.
She said Lindholm would also need to be seen by a doctor for cuts inflicted during her arrest.
The Melbourne Magistrates Court also heard CCTV footage would be used as evidence in the case.
Lindholm, of Reservoir, will be held in custody ahead of a committal mention hearing in the same court on May 13.
A second man, Torsten Trabet, 44, has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and being an accessory to murder.
Trabet was released on bail by a bail justice on Tuesday night to appear in court at a later date.
