Derryn Hinch joins Channel Seven
Iconic broadcaster Derryn Hinch is joining Channel Seven in the role of National Public Affairs Commentator, working across Sunday Night, Seven News and Sunrise.
After successfully recovering from a life-saving liver transplant last year, Hinch says he is looking forward to returning “home” to Seven.
“My doctor says I’ve got a Rolls-Royce liver – and now I’m back at the Rolls-Royce network. I can’t wait to get started,” Hinch said.
“I’ve got a lot of energy, and a lot of ideas and stories I want to pursue. The fat lady hasn’t sung yet. In fact she won’t be needed on stage for a long time.”
An opinionated and often provocative journalist, Hinch has worked as a radio host, TV presenter, foreign correspondent, newspaper editor and author in a celebrated media career spanning more than 50 years.
Between 1988 and 1992 he also fronted what was then the leading public affairs program in the country, ‘Hinch’, on Channel Seven.
He currently hosts the top-rating drive show for Melbourne’s 3AW radio station, a post that will end in November.

Hinch will start work with Seven immediately, appearing on Sunrise on Monday morning.
