Defeated fighter Paulo Costa has labelled champion Israel Adesanya ‘human trash’ after his ‘hump’ taunt on top of him following his defeat in their title fight.
Adesanya and Costa entered the fight with bad blood between them after months of trash talk, but the “Last Stylebender” delivered on his promise to make it look easy with a TKO finish.

But some fans were left disappointed after Adesanya’s celebration immediately after his TKO victory.
As Adesanya pummelled Costa on the floor, referee Jason Herzog jumped in to stop the fight.
But the champ, fighting out of New Zealand, made a ‘hump’ gesture on top of Costa as the ref waved off the fight and tried to get between them.
Some fans called out Adesanya over the taunt and now Costa has responded to the celebration.
“I’ve come here to talk about the action the human trash did after our fight,” the Brazilian said in a video.
“I didn’t see it when I was in the cage but I’ve seen it now and I disapprove 100 per cent.
Paulo Costa just posted this hilarious video complaining about Izzy’s post fight celebration. He also vows to defeat him in a rematch...— John Martian MMA (@UFO_UFC) September 28, 2020
I guess they don’t have a saying for “too little, too late” in Brazil. pic.twitter.com/hF25mvZq9p
“Nobody will stop me now, I want my rematch and you know something happened before the fight.
“I’m not making excuses to my people or my fans.
“But I will be 100 per cent ready to fight him and to make him pay, that’s my words.”
Yeah never been a fan of Adesanya's pre and post fight antics but that dry hump on Costa takes the cake.— Mohamed Khabir (@Mohamedkhabir) September 27, 2020
Disrespectful and tasteless. #ufc253
Adesanya responds to Costa’s call out
Despite Costa wanting revenge, Adesanya appeared to double down and hit back at the Brazilian.
He posted a photo of him holding an ‘L’, which read: “Hold this for me real quick.”
Despite Costa wanting an immediate rematch, Adesanya has already set his sights on his next opponent.
“I already DM’d Jared Cannonier. He’s a hell of a dude. I love his energy. He’s a beautiful man,” Adesanya said.
“I said you destroy Robert Whittaker and you’re next.”
The win was the ninth straight in the UFC for Adesanya, the Nigeria-born, New Zealand-based phenomenon who has soared to prominence in mixed martial arts over the past three years.
