Two teens trapped after ute carrying eight people flips

Two teenagers have been trapped inside a crashed ute after the stolen vehicle carrying eight people flipped in Sydney.

The girl and boy, both aged 16, had to be released by emergency services after the Toyota Hilux ute overturned on Junction Road at Moorebank, in the city’s southwest, about 2.50am on Saturday, police say.

Police say the ute was carrying two girls and six boys, believed to be aged between 16 and 17, at the time it overturned.

The two trapped teens were taken to hospital with minor injuries while the driver, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers are concerned two teenagers who ran from the scene of the crash may be in need of medical treatment, a police statement said.

Inquiries are continuing to identify the male youths who ran from the scene.
