Two fight for life after horror freeway crash
Passengers of an out-on-control mini-van involved in a horror crash on a busy freeway are fighting for their lives after being rushed to hospital.
Police believe the Honda Odyssey van lost control after a minor collision with another car as it travelled inbound on the West Gate Freeway at Port Melbourne shortly after 6pm on Sunday.
The van then skidded down the road and crashed into a dividing barrier several times before it stopped metres down the freeway.
Two of the seven people in the van were rushed to hospital with suspected critical injuries.
A further three people were seriously injured and were transported to hospital.
Two people also received minimal injuries.
Several inbound lanes of the West Gate Freeway were closed for most of Sunday evening while detectives processed the scene.
The female driver of the van is yet to be spoken to by police and is receiving medical treatment.
