A second teenager turned himself in on Friday evening after police held a press conference saying two other males had been identified as suspects.

“We encourage those two males to contact the local police and arrange themselves to be presented at a police station to give themselves up,” Detective Superintendent Janet Stevenson said.

“There was one group of schoolchildren from one school in one area and an aggressive group of boys attended there and they looked as though they were there for a purpose.

“It didn’t look like an organised fight.”

The second male, 18, was released after an interview.

Detective Superintendent Stevenson said investigators believe the incident involved two groups from two different schools.

“They are schoolchildren around the 15 or 16-year-old mark and they know each other,” she said.

“They've met down near the Sunshine bus station and that’s where an altercation has taken place.”

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said investigators continuing to search for a third boy and urged him to come forward.

“Detectives are still working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and the motivation for the altercation,” she said.

CCTV footage of a knife-wielding man running near Sunshine Station in the moments after the alleged attack was also released on Friday.

The male figure, dressed in a black jacket and blue face mask, can be seen on the video footage running through alleyways wielding a large machete-like object.

Pasawm’s death has left his community reeling, with a steady stream of mourners laying tributes at the scene.

His brother, Mawn Lyhym, described the 16-year-old as a good and kind person.

“He was funny, really nice, a welcoming and kind person,” Mr Lyhym told The Herald Sun.

“We are wrapping our arms around the family and friends of that student and ensuring that students and staff have all the support they need.”
