Trump wins New Jersey GOP primary

Former President Trump has won the New Jersey Republican presidential primary, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Trump already mathematically clinched the Republican nomination and became the presumptive GOP nominee in March. His win will add 12 delegates up for grabs to his total from the winner-take-all contest.

New Jersey had been granted 40 additional delegates to eventually send to the Republican National Convention next month, but the Republican National Committee penalized the state party by taking them away for its primary being scheduled after May 31.

Trump was the only candidate on the ballot in the state.
