Trump holds 16-point lead over Haley in New Hampshire: Survey
Former President Trump has a 16.4-point lead over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in New Hampshire, four days before the state’s Republican primary, according to a survey released Friday by Suffolk University.
Although Haley has picked up major ground in recent months, the former president has a notable lead ahead of Tuesday’s primary. Just more than half — 51.8 percent — of respondents said they were going to vote for him, while 35.4 percent of respondents said Haley has their vote.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came in third among major candidates, with 6.4 percent of respondents saying they plan to vote for him.
A majority of voters said it’s not likely they will change their minds about who they will vote for, the survey found.
Respondents who said they were going to vote for Haley were asked whether their vote was more “FOR Haley” or “AGAINST Donald Trump.” Fifty-four percent of Haley voters said they were choosing the former United Nations ambassador in opposition to Trump, while 42 percent said it was more of a vote for her.
When asked the same question, Trump supporters overwhelmingly said they would cast their ballots as a “FOR Donald Trump” vote.
The survey was conducted Wednesday and Thursday among 500 likely New Hampshire Republican primary voters. It has a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.
