Tragic drowning at local pool

A man has died after a drowning on the NSW north coast.

Police were called to the scene of a community pool on Angourie Rd in Yamba after an unconscious man was pulled from the pool.

Officers commenced CPR to try and save the man’s life before the arrival of paramedics, but he could not be revived.

Police have not yet formally identified the man, however, he is believed to be aged in his 20s.

Officers have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
