How this million-dollar Aussie home could be yours for just $55
An Aussie mum is giving anyone in the world a chance to live the Australian dream for just $55 after announcing she is raffling off her $1.52 million home and business.
Mum-of-two Natalie Giumelli, 31, has owned the Yapper Valley Pet Resort in picturesque Townsville, in Queensland’s northeast, for the past six years – but has now decided to sell her home and business in a very unique way.
Instead of going down the traditional route, Ms Giumelli has set up a raffle, selling entries for just $55 each.
The lucky winner can move straight into the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home that is situated on 110 acres of land – and will even get $30,000 put into their bank account to help kickstart their new pet resort business.
“With all the hard work my family and I have put into building our home and our successful company, I know that not many people would have the deposit, in these current economic times, to purchase our beloved home and business,” Ms Giumelli said.
“Traditional selling had brought a lot of interest and we met some great people who had the passion for this lifestyle.
“Sadly, they didn’t qualify financially. We then thought is there a way to give someone the opportunity to have what we have enjoyed these past six years and still walk away with enough to move onto our next venture.
“We had seen a few others that held a competition like this and thought let’s give it a shot.”
While the competition has been open to Australian residents since May 2019, Ms Giumelli said she was over the moon to now allow anyone around the world to have the chance to win.
Entries into the competition are submitted when someone purchases a $55 digital animal print on the Yarra Valley Pet Resort’s website.
“We’re very excited to open this up to overseas residents. We want someone to enjoy this slice of paradise in North Queensland,” Ms Giumelli said.
“It’s been so amazing bringing up my two boys in this outback setting with all this land to explore and enjoy.
“Wide open spaces, no neighbours and the freedom to do what you like is something we want to share with everyone.
“Australia has so much to offer. Amazing beaches, endless summer and so much untouched beauty.
“This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity to be debt free and start your life all over again.”
There are 40,000 entries available in the raffle, which will be drawn on 24 September 2019.
