Tom Hardy addresses Knives Out 3 casting rumours

Tom Hardy has finally addressed rumours linking him to the third Knives Out movie Wake Up Dead Man.

Last month, some reports claimed that the Venom and Mad Max: Fury Road actor was being considered for a role. However, his name wasn't part of the recent cast announcements for the film.

In a new interview with ET, Hardy said that he isn't currently involved in the project but thought it would be a "cool" offer.

"Nobody's called me about this," Hardy responded. "This came out in the Google machine this morning, even I was like 'What's this?'. Someone's gotta ask me."

"Sounds cool, but no one's asked me," he then said, before joking: "That's showbiz, right? Maybe I am in it!"

James Bond actor Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc for the third film of the popular murder mystery franchise.

Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny were the first two cast members announced, with Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Daryl McCormack, Josh Brolin and Thomas Haden Church making up the rest of the all-star cast.

While the main cast has been announced, there's always room for surprises. Knives Out 2 saw surprise cameos from Hugh Grant, Angela Lansbury and Stephen Sondheim.

Filming on the third movie is officially underway, with writer and director Rian Johnson marking the milestone with a new photo of Craig as Benoit Blanc.

The image debuted Craig's new hair transformation for the detective, which is considerably longer than the locks he's sported in the first and second films.

Knives Out 3 was teased by Johnson in January, with official confirmation and the film's title following in May. The third film is set to arrive on the streaming service sometime in 2025.

As for Hardy, the actor appears next on the big screen as the leader of a biker gang in The Bikeriders, released in UK cinemas on June 21. The film stars Austin Butler and Jodie Comer.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be released on Netflix in 2025.
