Toddler rushed to hospital after locking herself in car at home


A toddler has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after she locked herself in a hot car outside a NSW home.

Police said they were called to a home at Tuggerawong, on the NSW Central Coast, about 12.45pm on Monday.

They located the girl in the car and she was treated at the scene before being taken to Wyong Hospital in a critical condition. Her health has since improved.

The temperature in Tuggerawong was to reach a top of 27 degrees.

Police are investigating the incident.

The Central Coast Express Advocate reports her parents believed the child was inside the house and discovered the window open and fly screen pushed out when one of them went to check on her.

After searching the house they found the girl had locked herself in the car.
