Toddler fights for life after near drowning
Emergency services were called to the Nelly Bay Home on Magnetic Island about 6.30pm on Tuesday following reports a three-year-old had trouble breathing.
The boy was swimming in the swimming pool at the home when Queensland Ambulance was called to the scene.
Paramedics treated the boy at the home before taking him to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition.
The boy remains in hospital where he is fighting for his life.
Queensland Police has been contacted for comment.
